Saving Our Oceans

There’s different pollutants that cause this, such as chemicals or marine litter in the ocean. Marine litter is litter that humans did that got to marine life habitats or to the marine life themselves.

It’s estimated that there’s 15 to 51 trillion pieces of plastic in the oceans, it’s also estimated that there’s 1.15 to 2.41 million tons of plastic deposited into the ocean annually.

Most of this marine litter is from solid waste on the land that is poorly managed. The second is abandoned or lost fishing gear and nets.

One good idea is through upgrading our waste management system to be better so that less plastic gets into the ocean in the first place.

Not really. It may be a little helpful but there’s better ways to help reduce the amount of pollution in the oceans.
